Adolf Kasaija Mwesige is a Ugandan lawyer and politician. He is the current Minister for Local Government in the Ugandan Cabinet. He has served in that position since February 2009.[1] He is also the elected Member of Parliament for "Bunyangabu County", Kabarole District, a position he has served in since 1996.

He was born in Kabarole District on 4 April 1966.[2]
Adolf Mwesige holds the degree of Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Makerere University. He also holds the Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Center in Kampala. He holds a Diploma in International Law from the Public Administration Promotion Center in Berlin, Germany and a Diploma in Human Rights Law from the United Nations Center for Human Rights, in Geneva, Switzerland. He is currently enrolled in the Master of Laws (LLM) program at the University of London.[3]
Mwesige is enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda since 1994. Between 1992 and 1996, he worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affaitrs, as a Foreign Service Officer, responsible for Legal and Consular Matters. Between 1996 and 2001, he worked as the Managing Partner at Mwesige, Egunyu & Company Advocates, a Ugandan Legal law firm. He was first elected to Parliament in 1996, to represent "Bunyangabu County" in Kabarole District, a position he still holds, as of June 2011. Prior to 2009, Mwesige served as Minister for General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister.[4] In the cabinet reshuffle of 27 May 2011, Adolf Mwesige retained his Local Government portfolio.[5]
Adolf Mwesige is married. He is reported to have particular interest in community mobilization and public interest litigation.
